Jabba the Hutt Wall is a climbing area in New Mexico, about 1.5 miles from the town of Mentmore. It sits among a cluster of other climbing walls, including Benny Silva Wall, Bivi Wall/Swallow Wall and Slab Wall, all within about a tenth of a mile. The area is a compact hub of rock, with several named walls and routes close together. The climbing here ranges from sport to trad, with six routes in total. The grades run from 5.3 up to 5.12a, and the hardest is Demon Within, a mixed route. Among the sport routes are Leaning Slab at 5.3 and Demon Within at 5.12a, and the trad route Mr. Moto is at 5.7. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from the Gallup airport weather station, about 4.5 miles away, show May highs around 75°F and October highs around 68°F, while July and August average highs near 89°F and bring the most wet days of the year. The High Desert Trail System is close by, with the Mentmore entrance about 1.4 miles away and the Western loop about 1.6 miles away.
