Upper Guaje Trail (299) is an easy out-and-back hike in the Espanola Ranger District of the Santa Fe National Forest in northern New Mexico, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is about 3.6 miles long, with a one-way climb of 743 feet from a low point of 7,129 feet to a high of 7,758 feet. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from the nearby Los Alamos weather station show May highs around 70°F and October highs around 63°F, while July and August bring the most wet days, about 13 to 14 a month. Several other trails and climbing areas sit close by. Neblina's and Rendija are each about 0.1 mile away, and the Los Alamos & White Rock climbing area is about 0.2 mile off. Guaje Canyon Road is about 0.3 mile away.
