Twomile Mesa Trail is an easy out-and-back hike of about 4.8 miles, with a total elevation gain of 194 feet, on county land in the Espanola Ranger District of the Santa Fe National Forest in New Mexico. The trail runs from a low point of about 7,631 feet to a high of about 7,799 feet, and the route is short enough to fit into a day with other outings in the area. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Los Alamos show May highs around 70°F and October highs around 63°F, while July and August bring the most wet days, about 13 to 14 a month. The trail sits close to several other routes. The Perimeter Trail, Nail Trail and Pajarito Canyon all lie about 0.1 mile away, and the 45° Boulder climbing area is about 0.3 mile off.
