The Perimeter Trail is a 1.4-mile loop hike in the Espanola Ranger District of Santa Fe National Forest, in northern New Mexico. The route is an easy walk that gains about 290 feet from its low point of 7,784 feet to its high of 8,051 feet, and it takes about half an hour to complete. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Los Alamos show May highs around 70°F and October highs around 63°F, while July and August bring the most wet days, about 13 to 14 a month. The trail sits close to several other routes. The Twomile Mesa Trail, Nail Trail and Pajarito Canyon are all about 0.1 mile away. Climbers can find 45° Boulder roughly 0.3 mile off.
