Devaney Longmire Trail is an easy hike of about a quarter mile, with a total elevation gain of 146 feet, on county land in New Mexico. It runs within the Espanola Ranger District of the Santa Fe National Forest and is part of the Devaney Trail. The route climbs gently from a low point of about 7,220 feet to a high of about 7,393 feet. It is short enough to fit into a larger outing, and it makes an easy add-on before or after other trails in the area. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Los Alamos show May highs around 70°F and October highs around 63°F, while July and August bring the most wet days, about 13 to 14 a month. Several other trails and climbing areas sit close by. Los Alamos Canyon is about 0.1 mile away, Quemazon is about 0.2 mile away, and the Satch Cowan Trail and Gabriella Trail are each about 0.3 mile away.
