Tight Rope is a short, easy hike in the Sandia Ranger District of Cibola National Forest in New Mexico, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is about 1.3 miles long and rises roughly 90 feet from a low point of about 6,000 feet to a high of about 6,110 feet, making it an out-and-back route with a gentle climb. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Placitas show April and October highs around 71°F, while July and August average about 91°F with more wet days. The trail is natural-surface and open year-round. Bikes are allowed, but it is not an accessible route. The Bobsled mountain biking area and the Sidewinder hike both sit about 0.4 miles away, and the High Voltage hike is about 0.6 miles off. Climbers can find Tunnel Springs about 3 miles away.
