Skeleton Ridge Trail #46 is a hard hike in the Apache Kid Wilderness, part of the Magdalena Ranger District of Cibola National Forest in New Mexico. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is an out-and-back that covers about 14 miles with a total elevation gain of about 3,500 feet. The route starts at roughly 7,300 feet and climbs to about 10,000 feet at its high point. The trail is a long, steep commitment. Plan on about 7 miles each way, with the climb peaking near the top of the route. Because it crosses wilderness, expect to stay on designated trail and follow wilderness rules. For more time on foot, Teepe Peak Trail #81 lies about 2 miles away, and Teepe Peak and Cowboy are both within 3 miles. Climbers can find Upper Park about 10 miles off.
