Pine Flat is an easy out-and-back hike in the Sandia Ranger District of Cibola National Forest in New Mexico, about 1.6 miles from the town of Cedro. The route is short and gentle, covering about 1.5 miles with a one-way climb of 60 feet from a low point of 7,253 feet to a high of 7,389 feet. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from the nearby Sandia Park weather station run to highs around 73°F in May and 77°F in September, while winter highs sit in the low 40s. Pine Loop and the Deadman mountain biking trail both lie about 0.3 miles away, and Gambel is about 0.4 miles off. Climbers can find Block Wall about 2.4 miles away.
