Esteros is a hard hike in the Pecos Wilderness, part of the Pecos-Las Vegas Ranger District of the Santa Fe National Forest in northern New Mexico. The trail is about 9 miles long, with a one-way climb of roughly 1,850 feet from a low point of about 9,190 feet to a high of about 11,050 feet. The route is an out-and-back on natural surface, and it is open to horses. Bikes are not allowed. The closest neighbors are the Rociada Trail (250) about 1.5 miles away and the Iron Gate campground at about 2.2 miles. The Valle Largo and Bob Grounds hikes lie within about 3 miles.
