Coyote Trail is an easy out-and-back hike in the Sandia Ranger District of Cibola National Forest in New Mexico, about 1.5 miles from the community of El Tablazon. The trail is short, about a mile long, and gains roughly 160 feet in elevation from its low point at 6,914 feet to its high at 7,086 feet. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from the nearby Sandia Park weather station show May highs around 73°F and September highs around 77°F, with lows in the low to mid 40s. Several other trails sit close by. Lower Pine is about 0.6 miles away, Chamisoso Canyon Road about 0.9 miles, and Road Noise and Five Hills each about a mile. Climbers can find the Ranger Station Wall about 2.8 miles off.
