The Continental Divide Trail is a short, easy out-and-back hike in the Silver City Ranger District of Gila National Forest in southwestern New Mexico, managed by the Forest Service. The route is about 1.5 miles long, with a one-way climb of 68 feet from a low point of 6,378 feet to a high point of 6,450 feet. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from the nearby White Signal weather station, about 4 miles away, show May highs around 80°F and October highs around 72°F, while July and August bring the most wet days of the year. The Chisom Trail starts just 0.2 miles away, and the Gold Gulch Road and Charro Trail are both within about 2.6 miles. Deadman Canyon lies about 4.2 miles off.
