The Continental Divide Trail is a 5-mile out-and-back hike in the Silver City Ranger District of Gila National Forest in southwestern New Mexico, managed by the Forest Service. The route starts and ends at about 6,035 feet and reaches a high point of about 6,309 feet, with a total elevation gain of about 248 feet. It is rated moderate. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at White Signal, about 10 miles away, show May highs around 80°F and October highs around 72°F, while July and August bring the most wet days. Gold Hill Road lies about 0.8 miles away, and Walking X Ranch Road is about 2.2 miles off. Engineer Canyon Road and Gold Gulch Road are both within about 5 miles.
