Chimney Canyon Route is a 3-mile out-and-back hike in the Sandia Mountain Wilderness, part of the Sandia Ranger District of Cibola National Forest in New Mexico. The trail climbs from about 8,100 feet to roughly 10,600 feet, a gain of about 2,340 feet, and is rated moderate. The route starts and ends in the wilderness, which the Forest Service manages. The Old La Luz Trail lies just 0.1 mile away, and the Old La Luz (137B) trail is about 0.2 mile off. Climbers will find the Gemstone East and Gemstone West areas within about half a mile. For a longer outing, the Drinking Fountain Trail (207) is about 0.7 mile away, and the Chimney Canyon Trail is about 0.8 mile away.
