Chimney Canyon is a climbing area in the Sandia Mountain Wilderness, part of the Sandia Ranger District of Cibola National Forest in New Mexico. The Forest Service manages the land, and the canyon sits within designated wilderness, which makes it a compact, high-country destination for climbers. The area is a cluster of alpine and trad routes, with 16 routes in total. Alpine climbing dominates, with 11 routes in that style, and the grades run from 5.4 up to 5.11c. The hardest of the named routes is Crujida Fria at 5.11c, and the easiest is North Face at 5.4. Arrow Heads and Pitons is an alpine route at 5.7+. Several other climbing areas and trails lie within a short distance. Muralla Grande is about 0.1 mile away, and Santa Maria is about 0.2 mile away. The Chimney Canyon Trail and Royce's Trail are also within about 0.2 mile.
