Bayo Canyon Road is an easy out-and-back hike of about 2.2 miles, with a total elevation gain of 141 feet, on county land in the Espanola Ranger District of the Santa Fe National Forest in northern New Mexico. The route starts and ends at roughly 6,667 feet and reaches a high point of about 6,823 feet. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from the nearby Los Alamos weather station show May highs around 70°F and October highs around 63°F, while July and August bring the most wet days, about 13 to 14 a month. The Bayo Canyon Trail lies just 0.1 mile away, and the Bayo and Bayo Bench trails are each about 0.3 mile off. Climbers can find Sportsman Boulder - Rendija Canyon about 1.4 miles away.
