Fireline Trail is an easy hike in New Mexico, about 3.4 miles from Los Alamos. It's an out-and-back route of about 3.7 miles, with a low point of 6,603 feet and a high of 6,847 feet. The trail has a total elevation gain of 126 feet, so it's a short, gentle climb to the top. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Los Alamos show May highs around 70°F and September highs around 74°F, while July and August bring the most wet days of the year. Otowi Mesa Trail and Kwage Mesa Utility Road both start within about 0.2 miles, and Pueblo Canyon Road is about 0.4 miles away. Climbers can head to Sportsman Boulder - Rendija Canyon, about 1.7 miles off.
