Potato Chip is a bouldering area on Bureau of Land Management land in Nevada, within the Red Rock/Sloan Field Office. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots, with Warm-up Boulders Main, Burnout Boulder and Kraft Boulders all about 0.1 mile away, and the Wolfgang Güllich Memorial Boulder at the same distance. The climbing here is all bouldering, with 10 routes spread across the V0-1 to V8 range. The easiest are Poker Chips at V0-1 and Wald Face at V2, while Center Direct is the hardest at V8. The area works well as a short stop for climbers already exploring the surrounding boulders. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show April highs around 70°F and October highs around 75°F, while July and August average in the mid-90s. For a longer outing, the Kraft Mountain Loop Trail and Calico Loop are both about 0.3 mile away. Red Rock Canyon Campground, roughly 2.7 miles off, offers a place to stay.
