$600 Boulder is a bouldering area on Bureau of Land Management land in Nevada, within the Red Rock/Sloan Field Office. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Plumber's Crack, Hound Dog Arete and the Wolfgang Güllich Memorial Boulder all about 0.1 mile away. The Wolfgang Güllich Memorial Boulder is a short walk from the boulder itself, and the Super Scream Boulder is just as close. The area is a bouldering destination, with five routes listed, all rated on the V scale. The hardest is $600, a V9 boulder with a first ascent by Bill McLemore. The Kraft Dinner Right is a V7, and the Left Side Dihedral is a V0. The routes are all boulders, so there is no climbing on rock faces here. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show April highs around 70°F and October highs around 75°F, while July and August average in the mid-90s. For a change from bouldering, the Calico Loop and Kraft Mountain Loop Trail are both about 0.3 mile away. Red Rock Canyon Campground, roughly 2.7 miles off, is the closest place to camp.
