The Church Pew is a climbing area in the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area, part of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest in Nevada. The Forest Service manages the land, and the area sits among several other climbing spots, hiking trails and a picnic area. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the Mt Charleston weather station, about 0.4 miles away, show July highs near 79°F with lows around 52°F. Winter highs sit around 44°F. The station sits about 800 feet below the climb, so temperatures on the rock run a little cooler. The climbing here is all sport, and the routes grade from about 5.10+ up to 5.12c. Communion Wafer and The Cathedral Route are both 5.11c. Cruxifixion is the hardest at 5.12c. The Belltower and Weakness Wall climbing areas are each about 0.1 mile away. Cathedral Rock Picnic Area is about 0.3 mile off, and Fletcher View campground is about 2 miles away.
