Central Gully is a sport climbing area in Nevada's Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Castle Rock and Village Wall each about 0.1 mile away, and the Castle Rock Climber trail and Castle Rock Trail both about 0.2 mile off. The area is a compact hub of sport routes, with seven of them listed, all rated between 5.10b and 5.11d. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from the Dagget Pass weather station, about a mile away, show July highs around 75°F with lows near 49°F, and only about two wet days a month from June through September. Winter is cold, with January highs around 36°F and lows near 23°F. The closest camping is Nevada Beach Campground, about 2.4 miles away. Across the lake in California, Hope Valley campground is about 6.5 miles off, and the Lake Tahoe - South Shore fishing area is about 7.4 miles away.
