Water 1 is a short mountain biking route in Nevada's Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, on the Mountain City-Ruby Mountains-Jarbidge Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail lies about 0.18 miles from the start point, with a one-way climb of 24 feet from a low point at 7,328 feet to a high of 7,374 feet. The route is short and low-impact, with the steepest stretch at about 0.12 miles, where the grade reaches 4 percent. It's a quick addition to a longer ride rather than a standalone destination. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Ruby Lake show July highs around 88°F with lows near 53°F, while winter brings highs near 39°F and regular snow days from December through February. That station sits about 240 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on this route run cooler than at the station.
