Walker 3

Walker 3 is a short mountain biking route in Nevada's Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, within the Mountain City-Ruby Mountains-Jarbidge Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land, and the ride covers about 0.6 miles with a total elevation gain of 411 feet, from a start near 7,300 feet to a high point of about 7,305 feet. The climb is a compact one. The route begins at roughly 7,301 feet and reaches its highest point at about 7,305 feet, with the steepest stretch coming around 0.45 miles in at a grade of about 27%. The route also has a small amount of descent, with a total loss of about 453 feet. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the best bets. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Ruby Lake show May highs around 66°F and September highs around 77°F, while July and August average in the upper 80s. That station sits about 1,300 feet lower than the route, so temperatures on the trail run cooler.
