Cactus Slalom is an easy mountain biking route in Nevada's Red Rock Canyon, on Bureau of Land Management land managed by the Red Rock/Sloan Field Office. The ride is a short out-and-back that rises about 206 feet from the low point of 3,580 feet to a high of 3,789 feet, with the steepest stretch at roughly 0.85 miles in at a 7% grade. The total round-trip climb is about 475 feet. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Red Rock Canyon run to highs around 70°F in April and 75°F in October, while July and August climb to about 94 to 95°F. Switchy Hill and Badger Pass Trail are both within a mile, and Dave's Driveway and Lil' Daytona are a little farther out. Climbers can head to Fish Head, about 2 miles away.
