Middle Fork Smith Creek is a 9.8-mile out-and-back hike in Nevada's Ruby Mountains Wilderness, part of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest's Mountain City-Ruby Mountains-Jarbidge Ranger District. The trail climbs from about 6,800 feet to 9,481 feet, a gain of 1,885 feet, and is rated moderate. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is on natural surface. Horses are allowed, but bikes are not. The trail is open year-round, and the Smith Creek Connector lies just 0.2 miles away. Several other routes start close by. North Fork Smith Creek is 0.5 miles off, South Fork Smith is 0.7 miles away, and Smith Creek is 1.6 miles away. Harrison Pass, a climbing area, is about 9.7 miles from the trail.
