Eagle Ridge Loop is a 4.7-mile out-and-back hike in Nevada's Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, on the Carson Ranger District. The route climbs from a starting point at about 5,755 feet to a high of 5,810 feet, with a total elevation gain of 610 feet. The trail is rated hard, and the steepest stretch begins within the first third of a mile, with a 24% grade. The most comfortable months for a visit are July and August, when typical highs at the Glenbrook weather station reach the mid-70s and only a day or two a month brings rain. That station sits about 540 feet higher than the trail's start, so expect temperatures on the ridge to run slightly warmer. Sierra Canyon is about half a mile away and the Genoa Foothill Trail about 1.5 miles off. Climbers can head to Castle Rock, roughly 3.4 miles away, and Nevada Beach Campground is about 5.7 miles from the trail.
