Chimney Beach Trail is a short, easy hike in Nevada's Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is an out-and-back of about 0.9 miles, with a total elevation gain of 493 feet from the low point at 6,247 feet to the high at 6,445 feet. The steepest stretch comes at about 0.33 miles, with a 14% grade, and the trailhead is the Chimney Beach Parking Area. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Incline Village show July and August highs around 76°F with lows near 50°F, while winter highs sit in the low 40s. The trail sits close to several other outings. Marlette Trail or Bear Mtn is about 0.2 miles away, and the Marlette Dam hike is about 0.8 miles off. Mountain bikers can head to Chimney Beach, about 0.4 miles away. Sand Harbor, a climbing area, is about 2 miles away.
