Wounded Buck is a hard hike in the Hungry Horse Ranger District of Montana's Flathead National Forest, about 8 miles from the district's boundaries. The trail is an out-and-back that climbs from about 3,780 feet to roughly 5,668 feet, with a total gain of about 1,674 feet. The route is natural-surface and allows bikes, so riders can take it as well as hikers. The Forest Service manages the land. For a base, View Improvement Logging Disp. Camp is about 2.4 miles away and Lid Creek Campground about 2.7 miles. Wildcat Mtn. and Lost Johnny Campground are both within about 3 miles.
