Timberlane Loop B is an easy, out-and-back hike of about 1.2 miles in the Libby Ranger District of Kootenai National Forest in northwest Montana. The trail rises about 105 feet from its low point of 2,642 feet to a high of 2,758 feet, and it is managed by the Forest Service. The route is short and gentle, with a natural surface, and bikes are allowed. That makes it a good choice for a quick outing or a stop before or after a longer day in the area. Timberlane Campground sits just 0.1 mile away, and the Timberlane hike is 0.2 mile off. Both are within easy reach of the trail. Late spring and early fall tend to be the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Libby run to highs around 73°F in May and 78°F in September. That station sits about 660 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures here run a bit cooler. Summer brings highs in the upper 80s and a few more wet days, and the trail is open from May 1 through November 30. The Sheldon Mountain Tie L mountain biking route is about 2.6 miles away, and the Sheldon Mountain D hike is about 2.8 miles away. Loon Lake Campground is roughly 10 miles off.
