Timberlane is a short, easy loop hike in the Libby Ranger District of Montana's Kootenai National Forest, about 0.8 miles long and rising just 18 feet from its low point of 2,634 feet to a high of 2,659 feet. The trail is managed by the Forest Service and sits on natural surface, and it is not an accessible route. The most comfortable stretch for a visit runs from late spring through early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Libby show May highs around 73°F and September highs near 78°F, with July and August peaking in the low 90s. That station sits about 560 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the loop run a little cooler. The hike makes an easy pairing with Timberlane Campground, just 0.1 mile away, and Timberlane Loop B, 0.2 mile off. Farther out, Sheldon Mountain Tie L offers mountain biking about 2.6 miles away, and Blue Mountain is a hike roughly 3.3 miles from the trail.
