Lost Cabin Creek is a hard hike in the Scapegoat Wilderness, part of the Rocky Mountain Ranger District of the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest in Montana. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is a natural-surface out-and-back that climbs from about 5,733 feet to about 8,094 feet over roughly 9.9 miles. The one-way gain is 2,365 feet. The trail is rated hard, and it is not accessible. Horses are allowed, but bikes are not. The route lies entirely within designated wilderness, so plan for a backcountry outing. Several other hikes sit within a few miles, including the Dearborn River at 1.6 miles and Steamboat Lookout at 2.2 miles. For an overnight base, Double Falls Campground is about 6.5 miles away, and the North Fork Blackfoot River offers canoeing about 8.2 miles off.
