Dearborn River is a 10.8-mile out-and-back hike in Montana's Scapegoat Wilderness, within the Rocky Mountain Ranger District of the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest. The trail climbs from about 5,918 feet to 7,548 feet, a total gain of 1,635 feet, and is rated hard. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is natural-surfaced, with horses allowed and bikes not. The trip is open year-round, and the trail is not accessible. For a longer stay, Double Falls Campground sits about 5.4 miles away, and Wood Lake Campground is about 7.4 miles off. Within a few miles are the Lost Cabin Creek and Cave Creek hikes, and paddlers can reach the North Fork Blackfoot River about 8.2 miles away.
