Larry Creek is a hard hike of about 6.4 miles in a loop on the Stevensville Ranger District of the Bitterroot National Forest in western Montana. The trail is managed by the Forest Service and is a natural-surface route with a total elevation gain of 753 feet, rising from about 3,500 feet to about 4,200 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Stevensville show July highs around 85°F with lows near 49°F, and September cools to highs in the mid-70s. That station sits roughly 800 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures on the route run cooler. The trail starts close to several other spots. Charles Waters Campground and Larry Creek Group Camp are both within a mile, and the Bass Creek climbing area is about 0.3 miles away. Big Creek, a paddling spot, lies about 8.5 miles off.
