Java Creek is an easy hike in the Hungry Horse Ranger District of Flathead National Forest in northwest Montana, about 5.7 miles long with a one-way climb of about 1,030 feet. The trail is on natural surface and allows horses, and the Forest Service manages the surrounding land. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at E Glacier show July and August highs around 74°F with lows in the mid-40s, while winter highs stay near 30°F. Several other hikes sit close by, including Java Mtn. about half a mile away and Sheep - Elk Loop and Logan-Dirtyface within a mile. For an overnight stay, Devil Creek Campground is about 6 miles off.
