Davis Mountain is a hard hike on natural-surface trail in the Libby Ranger District of the Kootenai National Forest in northwest Montana. The out-and-back route runs about 11 miles, with a total climb of 1,380 feet from a low of about 4,800 feet to a high of about 6,050 feet. The trail is open from roughly June through October, and the Forest Service manages the land. The trip is open to horses and bikes, so it works for riders and riders on horseback. The trailhead is called Davis Mountain TH 212, and the season runs from June 1 to October 31. The hike starts close to several other trails. Davis Creek is less than a mile away, and Warland Ridge is about 1.6 miles off. South Fork Fivemile and Blackfoot Divide (Grimm Mdow) lie within about 3.5 miles. For overnight stays, Cripple Cripple Horse Meadow Site 5 is roughly 10 miles away.
