Blackfoot Divide (Grimm Mdow) is a hard hike in the Libby Ranger District of Montana's Kootenai National Forest, about 5.5 miles long with a one-way elevation gain of 1,725 feet. The trail starts at the Blackfoot Divide TH 4E parking area and climbs from a low point of about 3,900 feet to a high point of about 5,500 feet. The route is an out-and-back, and the trail surface is natural. Bikes and horses are both allowed, so the trip works for riders and pack animals as well as hikers. The trail is open from June 1 through October 31. That makes summer and early fall the most comfortable time to go, when the weather is typically milder than in winter. Nearby, South Fork Fivemile is about 2.6 miles away and Davis Mtn about 3.5 miles. Blackfoot Divide (Pinkham) and Warland Ridge are each about 4.1 miles off. For an overnight stay, Cripple Cripple Horse Meadow Site 5 is about 8.1 miles away.
