Baldy is a hard hike in the Three Rivers Ranger District of Montana's Kootenai National Forest, about 7.7 miles long with a 569-foot elevation gain. The trail is an out-and-back, starting and ending at the Baldy/Buckhorn TH 179 parking area, and it runs on natural surface. Bikes are allowed. The route rises from a low point of 5,946 feet to a high of 6,225 feet. It is open from May 1 through November 30. Mt. Baldy-Buckhorn Ridge campground sits about a mile away, and the Baldy Spring and Hellroaring Creek hikes are each within about a mile and a half. Red Top Campground is about 6 miles off.
