Rainy Lake Campground is a Forest Service site in the Seeley Lake Ranger District of Montana's Lolo National Forest, about 9 miles from the town of Seeley Lake. It is a simple, no-fee base for exploring the surrounding trails and lakes, with vault toilets as the only listed amenity. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July and August highs around 83°F with lows in the low 40s, and fewer wet days than the rest of the year. Winters are cold, with January highs near freezing. The Rainy Lake West and Rainy Lake East hikes both start about 0.1 mile away. Lake Alva Campground Complex is about a mile off, and the Rovero Trail is roughly 1.4 miles away.
