Jack's Field is a short cross-country skiing loop in Massachusetts, about a third of a mile long and with a total elevation gain of about 10 feet. It sits in a cluster of similar routes near Nancys Corner, about 0.2 miles away, and its flat profile makes it an easy addition to a longer outing on the surrounding network of trails. The route is a loop, and the climb profile is flat, so the whole trip is measured by the distance around it. The steepest section comes at about 0.23 miles in, with a grade of about 2%. The loop starts at roughly 66 feet and reaches a high point of about 81 feet, with a total loss of about 30 feet. The route is rated hard. Winter is the natural season for this kind of skiing. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Beverly show January highs around 37°F with lows near 18°F and a few snow days a month. By April, snow days drop to zero, and the high moves to about 57°F, so the best bet for snow is December through February. Several other cross-country skiing routes lie within a short distance, including Lamson Field North and Grass Rides Loop, each about 0.1 miles away, and Lamson Field, about 0.2 miles away. Farther afield, about 8 miles away, is the North Shore climbing area.
