Jackhammer Boulder is a bouldering area in Massachusetts, about 0.8 miles from North Saugus. It sits in a cluster of boulders that also includes Black Mamba Boulder, Sponsor Boulder and Evil Boulder, all within a short distance of one another. The area is a boulderer's playground, with five bouldering routes on its own rock. They range from the V1+ grades of Big Digger and Dump Truck up to the V6+ of Ride Em, "Cowboy," with Jackhammer itself at V3-4. The hardest routes, Kill Switch and Ride Em, "Cowboy," are both in the V6 range. Spring and fall are the most comfortable seasons to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Reading put May highs around 70°F and September highs around 75°F, with September seeing the fewest wet days of the year. Winters there are cold and snowy, with January highs in the upper 30s. Black Mamba Boulder is just 0.1 mile away, and Sponsor Boulder and Evil Boulder are each about 0.2 mile off. For a change of pace, the Eagle Rock Trail hike lies about 1.5 miles away.
