Third Hill
About
Third Hill is a summit in southern Maine, about 5 miles from the town of Cape Neddick. Several short trails pass close by, so a visit can easily become part of a longer loop on foot. Late summer into early fall tends to be the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Cape Neddick show September highs around 71°F with lows near 51°F. That station sits several hundred feet lower than the summit, so temperatures on top run a little cooler. The closest routes are the Ledge Trail, about 0.2 miles away, and the Third Hill Trail and Great Marsh Trail, each roughly 0.3 miles off. Climbers will find Kenyon Hill Preserve about 1.8 miles away.
