Fis-2 is a cross-country ski route in Maine, about 3 miles from the town of Dallas. It is a short out-and-back, roughly 0.75 miles long, with a high point of about 2,020 feet and a low of about 1,950 feet. The climb is back-loaded, with the steepest stretch at the start, about 7%, and the total gain and loss each run about 136 feet. Winter is the natural season for this route. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Rangeley show January highs around 22°F with lows near 2°F, while July highs reach about 75°F. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the route, so temperatures on the trail run a little cooler. Several other ski routes lie close by. Larry Hall Trail is about 0.1 mile away, Moose Alley about 0.2 mile, and Jeff's Trail about 0.4 mile. For a change of pace, the Geneva Loop hike is about a mile off.
