Goose Eye is a moderate out-and-back hike in Maine's Mahoosucs, set within the Appalachian National Scenic Trail corridor. The trail is managed by State Park and Recreation, and it covers about 2.4 miles with a total elevation gain of roughly 1,500 feet, taking hikers from a starting point near 3,786 feet up to a high point of about 3,875 feet. The climb is steepest around the 0.7-mile mark, where the grade reaches about 43%. The route is a natural-surface trail, and bikes are allowed. It is not accessible. The trail stays open year-round. The Wright Trail lies just 0.2 miles away, and Carlo Col and the Notch Trail are both within about 2.4 miles. Across the state line in New Hampshire, The Outlook climbing area sits about 3.2 miles off.
