Solar Collector/Gold Coast is a climbing area in Kentucky's Daniel Boone National Forest, within the Cumberland Ranger District and the Pendergrass-Murray Recreational Preserve. It is managed by a non-governmental organization, and the surrounding land is a mix of national forest and preserve. The area is a cluster of climbing spots, with The Crossroads just 0.1 mile away and The Dark Side and The Bright Side within a third of a mile. That makes it easy to string together several areas in one visit. The climbing here runs from trad routes on the lower end to sport routes that reach 5.14a. Of the 52 routes, 37 are sport and 15 are trad, with the hardest at 5.14a. Some of the named routes include Chester Fried Chicken (5.4, trad), Explanatory Gap (5.11+, sport) and God's Own Stone (5.14a, sport). For a change from the rock, the Sheltowee Trace high water route is about 2 miles away, and Lago Linda Hideaway offers camping roughly 5 miles off.
