Guide Wall is a climbing area inside Muir Valley Nature Preserve in Kentucky, managed by a non-governmental organization. It sits within a cluster of climbing areas, with Recess Rock and Washboard Wall about 0.1 mile away, so it's easy to pair with those for a full day on the rock. The preserve's climbing is all sport, and the routes run from about 5.7 to 5.12. The easiest are Fear of Commitment and Parks and Rec, both 5.7, and Mona Lisa Crack is 5.8-. Tiger Blood, at 5.12, is the hardest listed. Most of the routes were first climbed by Isaac Heacock and Ryan Jones in 2010. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the sweet spots. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Beattyville show May highs around 75°F and September highs near 79°F, with September also bringing the fewest wet days of the year.
