Dip Wall is a climbing area in Kentucky's Daniel Boone National Forest, within the Cumberland Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land, and the area sits among several other climbing spots in the district, including The Kentucky Wall, Indian Creek and Lumpy Wall, all within a mile. The climbing here is all trad, with 18 routes ranging from 5.3 to 5.11. The easiest is Over the Hedge at 5.3, and the hardest is Sylvester McMonkey McBean (aka Snitches) at 5.11. The median grade is 5.8, so the area suits climbers looking for a range of traditional routes rather than a single grade. Fall is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Stanton run to highs around 79°F in September and 69°F in October, with fewer wet days than the rest of the year. That station sits about 345 feet lower than the wall, so temperatures on the rock run a little cooler. The Kentucky Wall is just 0.3 miles away, and Indian Creek is 0.8 miles off. For an overnight stay, Indian Creek Camping Area is about 2.5 miles away, and the Middle Fork Red River offers paddling roughly 7.7 miles from the wall.
