Assassin Wall is a bouldering area in Illinois, set within Ferne Clyffe State Park in the Mississippi Bluffs Ranger District of Shawnee National Forest. The land is managed by the State Department of Natural Resources, and the wall sits among a cluster of climbing and hiking spots, with the Bouldering area just 0.1 mile away and Main Wall about 0.7 mile off. The climbing here is all bouldering, with six routes ranging from V6 to V10+. Smitty's House is the easiest at V6, and Natural Harvest and Flextraterrestrial are the hardest, at V10 and V10+. Touch of Nature, a V9, was first climbed by Ben Mangelsdorf in 2015. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Anna run from highs around 71°F in April to 73°F in October, while July highs average about 90°F. The River To River Trail and Round Bluff Nature Preserve Trail are both within half a mile. Paddlers can head to Lick Creek, about 3.6 miles away, and Lake Of Egypt - Buck Ridge Camping Area offers camping roughly 6.4 miles out.
