The Snort is a climbing area in Idaho managed by the State Department of Land, and it sits among a cluster of other climbing spots. The Snarl and The Snout are each about 0.1 mile away, and Send Town is about 0.2 mile away, so the area is a compact group of sport climbing routes. The climbing here is all sport, with five routes ranging from 5.10- to 5.11+. The easiest is Shake It Off at 5.10-, and the hardest is Beauty Climb at 5.11+. All the routes were bolted by Chris Barnes, Vernon Phinney and Mike Engle in 2016, with Beauty Climb also having a first ascent by Kira Engle. For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Massacre Rocks State Park show May highs around 68°F and September highs around 77°F, while July and August average in the upper 80s. Nearby, the River Trail and Pohogwe Trail are both about 5 miles away. Pipeline Campground is about 8.5 miles off, and Rock Creek, a canoeing spot, is about 6.4 miles away.
