6 Controversy Wall is a climbing area in Idaho, managed by the Bureau of Reclamation and located about 6 miles from the town of Quigley. It sits among a cluster of climbing walls, with Main Wall and 4 All Star Wall each about 0.1 mile away, and 7 Bop and Beta Wall at a similar distance. The area is a compact hub for climbers, with several named walls and routes within a short walk of one another. The climbing here is a mix of sport and trad routes, with 12 sport routes and 6 trad routes among the 18 listed. The YDS grades run from 5.8 up to 5.12a/b, with the median at 5.11c. Some of the named routes include Chorus Line (5.8, trad), Stand By For Technical Difficulties (5.11b, sport) and In Your Face (5.12a/b, sport), all of which were first ascended by the Wild Bunch. For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable seasons. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Massacre Rocks State Park show May highs around 68°F and September highs around 77°F, while July and August average in the upper 80s. The River Trail and Pohogwe Trail are both within a mile, and Rock Creek offers paddling about 2 miles away. Pipeline Campground, roughly 7 miles off, is the closest place to camp.
