Snakeskin is an easy, short mountain biking ride on Bureau of Land Management land in the Burley Field Office of Idaho. The climb is a 2.7-mile out-and-back that gains about 111 feet, with the high point at 5,323 feet and the start sitting at 5,301 feet. The route reaches its steepest stretch at about 1.3 miles, where the grade runs about 6%. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the sweet spots. Typical averages from the Twin Falls airport weather station, about 10 miles away, show May highs near 69°F and September highs near 76°F, while July highs average around 88°F. That station sits roughly 1,200 feet lower, so temperatures on the trail run cooler. Several other rides sit close by, including Hot Shot less than half a mile away, Snakeskin Cut-Off at under a mile, and Upper Dry Gulch and Matt's Gulch within about a mile and a quarter. For an overnight, Schipper Campground is about 5 miles off.
