Smitty's Loop is a mountain biking route in Idaho's Burley Field Office, on land managed by the Bureau of Land Management. It is an out-and-back ride of about 11 miles, with a high point of 5,612 feet and a one-way climb of 987 feet from the starting elevation of 5,597 feet. The total climb for the round trip is about 2,262 feet, and the steepest stretch comes at about 3.5 miles in, where the grade reaches 18 percent. For timing, the most comfortable conditions fall in late spring and early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Twin Falls run from highs around 69°F in May to about 76°F in September, with July and August highs near 88°F. That station sits well below the route, so temperatures on the trail run cooler. Several other routes lie within a couple of miles, including Connect To Sugarloaf and Snakeskin Cut-Off. For an overnight, Schipper Campground is about 5 miles away, and Rock Creek offers canoeing roughly 6 miles off.
